ABOUT ME

Hola! Me llamo Nashelli. I was born in Guadalajara, México and grew up in the LBC (Long Beach, California.) Everything started my last year of college. I studied a year abroad in Spain and I fell in love with the Spanish language. That experience opened my eyes to the Spanish speaking world and its beautiful cultures, traditions and food.

I came back to California and decided to teach Spanish, but after 3 years of teacher burnout, I needed a break. So, my best friend and I bought a 55 liter backpack on ebay and a one way ticket to Bogotá, Colombia, without a plan. That ended in a 4 month trip through Latin America and us teaching English in Madrid. Four years later, I made it back to Los Angeles and back to teaching Spanish, but this time was different. Those years traveling in South America and living in Spain were full of valuable experiences and wonderful people which helped shape the type of teacher I am today.

These diverse experiences have not only shaped my teaching philosophy but have also instilled a deep understanding and respect for the power of language and cultural exchange.

I opened Casa Flores with a strong commitment to promote Mexican culture and to support artisans. Casa Flores offers a curated selection of Mexican homegoods made by skilled artisans. Casa Flores firmly believes in fair trade practices and works directly with artisans to ensure they receive fair compensation for their craftsmanship.

As a bilingual business, Casa Flores strives to create an inclusive environment where all are welcome.

Join us in celebrating the vibrant culture of Mexico while supporting artisans and enriching your understanding of Mexican traditions and language.
